This token might refer to Richard Painter, aged 23, tried and convicted on 3 July 1838 at Warwick Quarter Sessions for larceny. Painter was sentenced to seven years’ transportation. There was also an Edward Deeley sentenced on the same day, who received a two-month term of imprisonment for assault. Painter sailed for New South Wales on the John Barry on 12 November 1838.
